150 T-Shirts

My daughter joined the children circus summer camp ZIWOLI and I was asked to print T-Shirts for all the children and staff.

Printing 150 T-Shirts felt like quite a challenge as I haven’t done more than 5 to 10 printings in one go yet. But after messing up the first shirt it worked out really smoothly and with a little help I finished the job in one afternoon. After all it was real fun and I’m looking forward to the next project.

Drawing from Sculpture

No. 0, screenprint on A3 paper, edition of 10

One day I showed up completely unprepared at Louise Rath‘s workshop. While desparately looking for some inspiration I stumbled upon this “animal skull in a cube” which already caught my eye in the previous weeks. It happens to be one of Christina Hartl-Prager‘s latest artworks who is also residing in this studio.

I drew it on transparent paper and exposed one screen for the black outlines of the cube and the skull. The colorful skull shape was printed through a screen with a hand-cut stencil. Working with a mix of 3 colors led to a unique result for each of the 10 prints.

Good Night Winter

Winter Night, screenprint on A2 paper, edition of 5

The foretaste of summer we are currently experiencing in Vienna makes those prints look a bit out of place. I started this project a few weeks ago while it was still freezing and it only got finished today. A belated farewell.
